About Kick Off
Kick Off arrived on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992, developed by Anco Software. It was one of many sports titles on the platform, a straightforward soccer game released during a time when developers were still figuring out how to translate the flow of a real match into a 16-bit experience.
You control a team of soccer players, moving them around the pitch to score goals against your opponent. The main objective is simple: win the match. The game is known for its direct, almost top-down perspective and its emphasis on fast passing plays. You constantly tap buttons to pass and shoot, trying to create openings in the defense. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty can be sharp, especially against the computer, which rarely gives you a moment to settle on the ball.
