Kawasaki Caribbean Challenge is one of those weirdly specific SNES racers where you’re either blasting across turquoise water on a Jet Ski or weaving through palm trees on a Ninja bike. The water physics are surprisingly decent—you actually feel the spray when you cut too sharp, and the digitized engine noises sound like they ripped them straight from a garage.
First race in, I went for the Jet Ski because, well, who doesn’t want to skim over waves like that? Turns out the bikes handle tighter on land, but the water routes have this chaotic charm where you’re constantly adjusting for waves. The Caribbean backdrops are pixelated postcards, all blue skies and sand, though good luck admiring them when you’re fighting for first place. It’s janky in that early ‘90s way, but there’s something oddly satisfying about nailing a perfect turn between two buoys.
Just don’t expect deep customization—you’re here to go fast, not tweak suspension.
