Kawa No Nushi Tsuri 2 is one of those weirdly relaxing SNES fishing games that somehow makes catching pixelated fish way more fun than it should be. You start off with basic gear—nothing fancy—just you, a rod, and whatever patience you’ve got left after dealing with real-life fishing. The controls are simple, but timing your casts and reeling in feels oddly satisfying, especially when you hook something massive and the tension kicks in.
What’s cool is how the game mixes in RPG elements—you earn money from catches, upgrade your gear, and even explore different spots. The river actually changes depending on the time of day, so night fishing feels different from dawn. And yeah, the graphics are dated, but there’s charm in those chunky sprites and the way the water ripples when a fish bites.
It’s definitely niche, but if you’ve ever wanted a fishing game with a little more depth than just button mashing, this one’s worth a cast.
