I remember picking up Jungle Book for the Super Nintendo back in 1994. It was published by Virgin Interactive, one of many licensed platformers from that era. The game stood out because it was based on the animated film, and it felt like a solid attempt to bring that world to the 16-bit console.

You control Mowgli through a series of side-scrolling levels, navigating jungles and ancient ruins. Your main goal is to survive the wilderness and reach the end of each stage. You can throw fruit to defeat enemies like monkeys and snakes, and you also collect gems and extra lives hidden throughout the levels. The game is known for its screen-by-screen exploration, where each new area loads as you move. The pacing is brisk, but the difficulty can spike unexpectedly, especially during the later stages. It feels like a straightforward, sometimes challenging, run through a familiar story.
