About Jungle Book
I remember picking up Jungle Book for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System back in 1994. It was published by Virgin Interactive, and it fit right in with the many other licensed platformers of that era on the SNES. The game follows the story of the Disney film, which was a common approach for games at the time.
You control Mowgli through a series of side scrolling levels, navigating both horizontally and vertically through the jungle. Your main goal is simply to survive each stage and reach the end. You spend your time running, jumping across platforms, and climbing vines or trees. For defense, you throw fruit at enemies like monkeys and snakes. The levels are fairly linear, and the challenge comes from timing your jumps and attacks carefully. It feels like a straightforward, sometimes tricky, run through a familiar world.
