Judge Dredd on SNES is one of those licensed games that actually gets the vibe right—gritty, fast, and packed with that over-the-top comic book action. You start off blasting through Mega-City One’s neon-lit streets, taking down perps with your Lawgiver pistol (which, by the way, has different ammo types if you’re smart about switching).
The side-scrolling feels a little stiff at first, but once you get into the rhythm of ducking behind cover and timing your shots, it clicks. Some of the platforming bits can be brutal—expect a few cheap deaths—but the sprite work and backgrounds nail that dark, futuristic comic look. And yeah, you’ll definitely recognize some classic villains popping up.
It’s not perfect, but if you’re into 90s action games or just love the comics, it’s a solid way to spend an afternoon. Just don’t expect any mercy from the later levels.
