Joe & Mac 3 is one of those SNES platformers that somehow makes getting clobbered by dinosaurs fun. You start off swinging your club at pterodactyls and hopping across floating logs—basic caveman stuff—but then you’re suddenly riding a triceratops through a jungle while dodging lava pits. The controls are a little stiff (this is a 90s platformer, after all), but the sheer chaos of it all makes up for it.
The music’s got that bouncy, tropical vibe, and the colors pop in that classic SNES way—bright greens, deep blues, way too much orange. Boss fights are ridiculous in the best way, like this one where you’re chucking coconuts at a T-Rex while balancing on a crumbling bridge. It’s not the deepest game, but it’s got charm for days. If you’re into dumb, over-the-top action with a side of nostalgia, this one’s a solid pick.
