About Joe & Mac 2 - Lost In The Tropics (beta)
Joe & Mac 2: Lost in the Tropics was a 1994 release for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System from Data East. It arrived during a period when the SNES library was dense with side-scrolling action games, and this sequel continued the prehistoric adventures of its two caveman heroes.
You control either Joe or Mac, navigating through vibrant, screen-by-screen levels filled with dinosaurs and other primitive enemies. Your main goal is to recover a stolen crown and six gems, which involves traversing jungles, caves, and waterfalls. The gameplay revolves around using a variety of weapons, like bones and boomerangs, which you can power up for greater effect. You also ride on the backs of certain dinosaurs to access new areas or overcome obstacles. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can be quite sharp, demanding quick reflexes to manage the frequent enemy swarms. It feels like a chaotic, energetic scramble from one screen to the next.
