Joe and Mac 2 kicks things up a notch from the first game—you're still those lovable cavemen, but this time you're chasing down some jerk named Gork who swiped your chief's crown. The whole thing plays out like a weird prehistoric road trip, bouncing between jungles, icy wastelands, and even volcanoes while smacking dinosaurs with your club (or whatever weapon upgrade you stumble across).
What I love is how they mixed in some light RPG stuff—you collect rainbow stones and coins to buy upgrades in Tiki Village, and there's this goofy hut customization thing that doesn't really matter but feels oddly satisfying. The overhead map makes it feel less linear than the first game, though some levels still throw you into those frantic minecart sections where timing your jumps is half the battle.
It's still a co-op brawler at heart, just with way more to mess around with between levels. Just don't expect the password system to save you from frustration when you get stuck on that one lava level.
