About Joe And Mac 2-lost In The Tropics
Joe and Mac 2: Lost in the Tropics came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1994, published by Data East. It arrived during a time when the SNES library was full of colorful action games, and this sequel continued the prehistoric adventures of its characters without trying to reinvent the genre.
You control either Joe or Mac, two cavemen on a quest to retrieve their chief's stolen crown by collecting seven Rainbow Stones. Your journey takes you through side scrolling levels where you jump across platforms and battle dinosaurs and rival tribesmen with your club. You can upgrade your club to a spiked version or throw bones as projectiles, which you sometimes get from eating meat that also restores health. The game introduces an overworld map, letting you choose levels to revisit for coins used to buy items in Tiki Village. The pacing is brisk, with some stages featuring mine cart rides that demand quick reflexes, and the difficulty can spike in later areas. It feels like a straightforward, cooperative adventure with just enough new ideas to keep you moving forward.
