Joe and Mac - Caveman Ninja is one of those SNES games that just oozes charm. You play as two cavemen (obviously) who have to rescue their cavewomen from a bunch of dinosaurs and weirdo cavemen rivals. The first thing you'll notice is how ridiculous it all is—you're chucking bones like boomerangs, riding pterodactyls, and occasionally turning into a hulked-out caveman version of the Hulk after eating mystery meat.
The levels are these vibrant, cartoony prehistoric landscapes—jungles with bouncing mushrooms, ice caves where you slide around like an idiot, and volcanoes that'll roast you if you stand still too long. The bosses are the best part though—wait until you fight the T-Rex that basically fills half the screen. My first time playing, I got wrecked because I didn't realize you could actually ride some of the dinos. Classic '90s "figure it out the hard way" design.
It's got that perfect mix of jank and fun—sometimes the controls feel a little stiff, but the sheer absurdity of it all makes up for it. Also, the soundtrack slaps harder than Joe's club. If you're into retro platformers with personality, this one's a riot.
