Jim Power - The Lost Dimension in 3D is one of those SNES games that looks way cooler than it has any right to. The "3D" gimmick is basically a bunch of parallax layers scrolling at different speeds, but somehow it works—you're dodging asteroids one second, then hopping across floating platforms the next. The whole thing feels like an arcade cabinet that got crammed into a cartridge.
It’s tough, though. Like, "throw your controller at the couch" tough. The first level tricks you into thinking it’s just a standard run-and-gun, but then the gravity flips, enemies come from every angle, and suddenly you’re questioning every jump. The music slaps, though—some real synth-heavy energy that keeps you pushing through the chaos.
If you’re into retro platformers that don’t hold your hand, this one’s a trip—just don’t expect to beat it in one sitting.
