About Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius (japan)
Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius came out for the Super Nintendo in 1995, developed and published by Konami. It was part of that wave of late SNES releases that really pushed the hardware, a time when developers were squeezing every last bit of performance out of the system.
You pilot a selection of oddball ships, many based on other Konami characters, through side-scrolling stages. Your main goal is simply to survive the relentless enemy patterns and defeat the boss at the end of each level. Key mechanics include collecting bells to power up your ship, which cycles through different weapon types like lasers and spread shots, and grabbing the occasional penguin for a screen-clearing smart bomb. The game is famously chaotic, with a constant stream of enemies, projectiles, and visual gags demanding quick reflexes.
