About Jack Nicklaus Golf (france)
Jack Nicklaus Golf was released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in the early 1990s, published by Tradewest and developed by Sculptured Software. It was one of several sports titles on the platform that used a professional athlete's endorsement, in this case the famous golfer Jack Nicklaus, to lend it an air of authenticity.
You control a golfer from a top-down perspective on a variety of courses, with the main objective being to complete each hole in as few strokes as possible. The game uses a three-click swing meter for your shots; you press the button to start the meter, again to set the power, and a final time to determine the accuracy of the shot. You must also account for wind direction and the lie of the ball on the fairway or in the rough. The pacing is deliberate, requiring you to think about each shot, and the difficulty can be steep if your timing on the swing meter is off. It feels like a thoughtful, sometimes punishing, test of your consistency and patience.
