Illusion of Time on SNES is one of those weird, dreamy action-adventure games that sticks with you. You play as Will, a kid who gets pulled into this ancient prophecy—pretty standard setup, but the way the game unfolds is anything but. The first thing you notice is how moody it feels, with these washed-out colors and a soundtrack that’s equal parts haunting and beautiful.

Gameplay’s a mix of light platforming, Zelda-style exploration, and some surprisingly tough puzzles. You’ll be pushing blocks, flipping switches, and occasionally getting stuck because the solution isn’t always obvious. Combat’s simple—swing your sword, dodge attacks—but the real draw is the atmosphere. One minute you’re in a misty forest, the next you’re inside some crumbling temple with time-warping mechanics.

It’s not perfect—the translation’s a little rough, and some sections drag—but there’s something special about how it all comes together. If you like SNES-era adventures with a side of melancholy, this one’s worth digging up.
