About Hurricanes (europe)
Hurricanes came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, published by U.S. Gold. It was a time when side-scrolling platformers were everywhere, and this one tried something different by mixing soccer into the action.
You control one of the Hurricanes team members, running and jumping through levels filled with enemies like scorpions and centipedes. Your main goal is to get through each stage, and your primary weapon is your soccer ball; you kick it to defeat enemies and sometimes to hit switches. The game progresses screen by screen, and you collect power-ups that change your ball's abilities, like making it a fireball. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, with enemies swarming from all sides. Playing it feels like a frantic, unusual mix of sports and platforming where your foot is your best weapon.
