I first came across Humans on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System back in 1992, a release from Imagitec Design. It was part of that wave of puzzle platformers that showed up on the system, sitting alongside games that made you think as much as you jumped. It never got the same attention as some of the bigger titles, but it had its own quiet spot on the shelf.

You control a small tribe of early humans, moving them one by one across single screen levels. Your main goal is to guide them safely from the entrance to the exit, but the challenge is in how you get there. Your people start with nothing; you have them pick up rocks, discover fire, and eventually learn to use spears and build basic tools to solve environmental puzzles. The mechanics are built around this slow discovery; you might have one human stand on another's shoulders to reach a high ledge, or use a torch to scare away predators blocking the path. The pacing is deliberate, almost slow, and the difficulty comes from figuring out the exact sequence of actions with your limited abilities. It feels like patiently orchestrating a clumsy, prehistoric ballet where every step matters.
