About Human Baseball (japan)
Human Baseball came out for the Super Nintendo in 1991, developed by Human Entertainment. It was part of that early wave of SNES games, arriving when developers were still figuring out what the system could do. You don't see many games like it now, a sports title with such a specific, almost quirky, focus.
You control a team of baseball players, but the game is not a standard simulation. The main objective is to win matches, of course, but you manage your team's condition and strategy between innings. Signature mechanics include a detailed pitching and batting interface where timing is everything, and fielding that relies on quick cursor movement to position your players. The game has a deliberate pace, especially during the management segments, and the difficulty can be sharp if your timing is off. It feels like a thoughtful, almost technical take on the sport.
