Man, Hook On SNES takes me back. You start off swinging ropes like Peter Pan—which, honestly, feels way cooler than it should—and the controls are surprisingly smooth for a 16-bit game. The first level throws you right into Neverland with these bright, cartoony graphics and that bouncy soundtrack that somehow sticks in your head for days.
Captain Hook’s goons are everywhere, and you’ve got to time your jumps just right or you’ll end up in the drink. I remember getting stuck on this one part where you have to chain swings over a pit of crocodiles… took me way too many tries. But when you nail it? Pure satisfaction.
It’s got that classic SNES charm—simple but not easy, with just enough challenge to keep you grinding without feeling cheap. If you missed this one back in the day, it’s still a blast to play now. Just watch out for Hook’s sneaky sword swipes.
