Hook on SNES is one of those licensed movie games that somehow manages to be decent despite the odds. You play as Peter Pan—well, Robin Williams' version from the film—swinging your sword through Neverland's jungles and pirate ships. The sprites are surprisingly detailed for a 16-bit game, and the music nails that adventurous vibe.
It's a straightforward sidescroller, but there's something charming about bouncing on barrels and dueling with Hook's goons. The platforming can get a little slippery, and some of the hit detection is wonky (classic SNES quirks), but it's got more personality than most movie tie-ins. If you grew up with the film, it’s a fun little nostalgia trip.
