About Hook (europe)
Hook came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992, published by Ocean Software. It was one of many games released during that period that tried to capture the feel of a popular film, in this case the Robin Williams movie. You play as an older Peter Pan who has forgotten his past, exploring the levels of Neverland to rescue his kidnapped children from Captain Hook.
You control Peter, moving screen by screen through themed areas like jungles and pirate ships. Your main goal is to find and defeat Hook, which involves navigating platforming challenges and fighting pirates and other enemies. You start with a weak punch, but you gradually recover your abilities; you learn to fly for short bursts to cross large gaps, and you get your sword back for more effective combat. The game has a moderate pace, but some sections can be difficult due to precise jumping and enemy placement. It feels like a straightforward adventure where you are slowly rebuilding the skills that make you Pan again.
