About Honoo No Doukyuuji - Dodge Danpei (japan)
Honoo no Doukyuuji: Dodge Danpei came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, developed and published by SunSoft. It was part of that wave of Japanese sports games based on popular manga, a familiar sight on the SNES at the time.
You control Danpei, a young dodgeball player, navigating through a series of matches. Your main goal is to win tournaments by defeating opposing teams. The gameplay mixes overhead exploration of towns between matches with the court action itself. During a match, you aim and throw the ball, perform special power shots that consume a meter, and dodge incoming attacks. The game has a steady pace, but the later matches get quite difficult, demanding precise timing for both your throws and evasions. It feels like a straightforward sports game that gradually tests your reflexes and strategy.
