Honkaku Mahjong - Tetsuman II is one of those deep, no-nonsense mahjong sims for the SNES—none of that simplified stuff. You boot it up, and bam, you're staring at a clean, grid-style table with those classic Japanese tile designs. The menus are all in Japanese, but if you know your pungs from your chows, you'll figure it out quick.
First hand I played, the AI wrecked me—these guys don’t mess around. The game’s got that old-school vibe where it doesn’t hold your hand, just drops you into a match with some serious opponents. The tiles clack nicely when you draw, and there’s something satisfying about slowly building a winning hand while trying not to give anything away. If you’re into hardcore mahjong, this one’s a solid pick.
