About Holy Striker (japan)
Holy Striker came out for the Super Nintendo in 1992, a release from Naxat Soft. It was part of that early wave of SNES games, arriving when developers were still figuring out what the system could really do. You see a lot of titles from that period with big, colorful sprites and ambitious ideas, and this one fits right in.
You control a knight who explores the land screen by screen, clearing each area of monsters before you can move on. Your main goal is to venture through dungeons and collect the pieces of a sacred cross. You have a sword for close combat and a bow for attacking from a distance, which you need to use strategically against different enemies. The game moves at a steady pace, but the difficulty can spike unexpectedly in later stages. It feels like a methodical, sometimes punishing quest where every new screen is a small challenge to overcome.
