Hero Senki - Project Olympus is one of those weird, fun little SNES spinoffs from the Super Robot Taisen series that never made it overseas. You get this crossover mashup where Gundams, Ultraman, and Kamen Rider characters all fight together—which sounds ridiculous but somehow works.
The combat feels like classic SRW, just with chunky 16-bit sprites and those satisfying screen-filling super attacks. Early on, you're juggling between upgrading your mechs or saving cash for later units, and the roster's full of deep-cut Japanese heroes that make it feel like a lost toy commercial from the 90s.
It's definitely rough around the edges compared to mainline SRW games, but there's charm in how over-the-top it gets. If you can track down a translation patch, it's worth a play just for the novelty.
