Hebereke's Popoon is basically Puyo Puyo but with the weird little guys from Ufouria—you know, that bizarre NES platformer where you played as a penguin in a hat? Same energy here. The gameplay's familiar if you've played any falling-block puzzle game: match colors, make chains, watch the garbage pile up on your opponent's side. But the real charm comes from the characters bouncing around and shouting nonsense while you play.
First match in, you'll notice the physics feel a little heavier than Puyo Puyo, and the chain reactions take some getting used to. The music's got that early '90s SNES cheerfulness, all bouncy synths and chirpy melodies. It's not the deepest puzzle game out there, but there's something oddly satisfying about watching Hebe (the main penguin dude) panic when you're about to crush him with a 5-chain. If you dig weird retro mascots and simple but solid puzzle action, this one's a fun time.
