Harley's Humongous Adventure is one of those weird, janky SNES platformers that somehow sticks with you. You play as Harley, a kid who gets shrunk down to bug-size and has to fight his way through a giant-sized house—think Honey, I Shrunk the Kids but with way more robot spiders and sentient vacuum cleaners.
The controls take some getting used to—Harley’s jetpack feels floaty at first, but once you figure out the rhythm, bouncing off enemies and dodging oversized household hazards gets weirdly satisfying. The art style’s got that early ‘90s charm, all bright colors and chunky sprites. Just don’t expect it to hold your hand—some of those jumps are brutal.
It’s not perfect, but there’s something oddly charming about wrecking a kitchen as a tiny dude with a wrench.
