Hagane is one of those SNES hidden gems that feels like someone mashed up a ninja flick with a cyberpunk fever dream. You play as this rogue cyborg ninja slicing through waves of enemies with these ridiculously smooth animations—like, the way your character flips and throws shurikens mid-air just feels good. The levels are packed with traps, weird sci-fi samurai, and these creepy robotic bosses that look like they crawled out of an Akira panel.

It’s tough as nails, though. One wrong jump and you’re impaled on spikes or shredded by a buzzsaw, but the controls are tight enough that it never feels unfair. And the soundtrack? All industrial synths and heavy drums, like someone remixed a Shinobi game in a grimy underground club. If you’re into fast-paced action with a weird, dark vibe, this one’s a blast.
