Hagane is one of those late-era SNES gems that somehow flew under the radar—probably because it came out right as everyone was jumping to PlayStation. You play as this cyber-ninja hybrid slicing through hordes of enemies with a mix of swordplay, shurikens, and even a weird double-jump that takes some getting used to.
The levels throw you into this gritty futuristic Japan where you’re dodging laser traps one minute and fighting robot samurai the next. It’s tough as nails—like, "throw-your-controller" tough—but the animations are so smooth you almost don’t mind dying over and over. That spinning slash move never gets old.
If you’re into games that don’t hold your hand but reward persistence, this one’s a blast. Just don’t expect to beat it in one sitting.
