Great Battle V on the SNES is Banpresto's wildest crossover yet—imagine slamming together mechs, cowboys, and anime heroes into a frantic third-person shooter. It plays like Wild Guns cranked up to 11, with the same over-the-top energy and chunky pixel art that makes every explosion feel satisfying.
You start off blasting through saloons and deserts, swapping between characters mid-fight like some bizarre but awesome action figure mash-up. The controls take a second to click (why does the sniper scope feel so janky?), but once they do, it’s pure chaos in the best way. That soundtrack? Absolute fire, especially when the boss themes kick in.
It’s a shame this one never left Japan—the sheer absurdity of cowboy Gundams deserves a wider audience.
