About Goof Troop (europe)
Goof Troop came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, a Capcom game that felt a bit different from their usual action titles. It was based on the Disney cartoon, and it landed during a time when the SNES was full of bright, colorful adventures you could play with a friend.
You control Goofy or his son Max, exploring a series of islands screen by screen. The main goal is to rescue your friends, PJ and Pete, who have been captured by pirates. You solve puzzles by picking up and throwing items at enemies or obstacles, and you use a grappling hook to pull objects from a distance. The dungeons are full of traps and enemies that require some timing to get past. It is not a particularly difficult game, but it makes you think about the order you do things. Playing it feels like a relaxed, cooperative puzzle box where you and a friend are constantly handing items back and forth.
