About Godzilla - Kaijuu Daikessen (japan)
Godzilla: Kaijuu Daikessen came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, a Japanese exclusive from developer and publisher Toho. It was part of that wave of mid-90s fighting games on the SNES, a time when every franchise seemed to be getting its own versus brawler.
You control one of several giant monsters, like Godzilla or Mothra, and your goal is to defeat all the others in one-on-one battles. The fights take place on single, side-view stages, and your character has a range of basic and special moves, including projectile attacks and close-range grapples. A unique mechanic is the ability to charge up a super attack, which can turn the tide of a match if you land it. The pacing is deliberate, with the large characters moving with a sense of weight that makes every hit feel significant. It feels like you are actually maneuvering a building-sized creature in a destructive brawl.
