About Ghoul Patrol (japan)
Ghoul Patrol was released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in Japan, developed by LucasArts. It arrived during a period when the SNES library was rich with action games, and this title served as a direct follow-up to Zombies Ate My Neighbors.
You control either Zeke or Julie, two teenagers armed with an arsenal that ranges from squirt guns to more powerful weapons like the blaster. Your main goal is to clear each screen of every monster before you can proceed to the next, fighting through graveyards, haunted mansions, and other spooky locales. Signature mechanics include screen by screen exploration, where you must eliminate all enemies in an area to advance, and collecting keys to unlock new sections of the map. The pacing is relentless, with monsters swarming from all directions, and the difficulty can be punishing if you are not careful with your limited lives and resources. It feels like a frantic scramble for survival where every corner could hide another wave of creatures.
