About George Foreman's Ko Boxing
George Foreman's KO Boxing came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992, published by Acclaim Entertainment. It was part of a wave of sports games trying to capture the feel of the ring on the 16-bit console, a time when digitized athletes and simple controls were the standard.
You control a boxer working through a career to become the champion. The main objective is to win fights by knocking out opponents or by decision. Signature mechanics include a stamina meter that depletes as you throw punches and requires careful management, and a first-person perspective during fights that puts you directly in front of your rival. The game moves at a deliberate pace, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, demanding precise timing for blocks and counters. Landing a clean hook and watching the referee start the count feels genuinely satisfying.
