About George Foreman's Ko Boxing (europe)
George Foreman's KO Boxing came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992, published by Acclaim Entertainment. It was part of a wave of sports games trying to capture the feel of the ring on the 16-bit console, a straightforward boxing title without a lot of the frills you'd see later.
You control a boxer working through the ranks, with the main goal of becoming the heavyweight champion. The gameplay is split between a world map where you travel to different cities for fights and the bouts themselves, which play out from a side view. You throw jabs, hooks, and uppercuts with the face buttons, while the shoulder buttons handle blocking and dodging. Stamina management is crucial; if you swing wildly, your fighter tires quickly and becomes vulnerable. The difficulty ramps up noticeably as you face tougher opponents who counter effectively. Landing a clean combination that leads to a knockout provides a solid, satisfying thud.
