Genghis Khan 2 is one of those deep, slightly chaotic SNES strategy games where you either take control of Mongolia as Temujin himself or pick a rival leader and try to outmaneuver him. The first time I played, I got overwhelmed—there’s so much to juggle between managing cities, trading goods, arranging marriages (yes, really), and deciding which generals to promote before marching your armies across the steppes.
What’s cool is how tight the turn system feels—you never have enough points to do everything, so you’re constantly choosing between, say, boosting your economy or training cavalry. Battles play out like a stripped-down tactical RPG, and I still remember the panic of realizing too late that I’d put a terrible general in charge of my best troops. It’s messy, unpredictable, and weirdly addictive once you get the hang of it.
