Ganbare Goemon Kirakira Douchuu - Boku Ga Dancer Ni Natta Riyuu (japan) Game
📅 1995 ✍️ Konami

Okay, so this is one of those weird, late-era Goemon games that never left Japan—and honestly, it’s kind of a trip. Instead of the usual platforming, you’re suddenly thrown into this rhythm game where Goemon and crew dance their way through Edo-period Japan. The sprites are huge, the music’s catchy in that classic SNES soundchip way, and the whole thing feels like someone mashed up Dance Dance Revolution with feudal Japan. Weird? Absolutely. But also weirdly charming once you get into it.
First few minutes go like this: You pick a character (Ebisu’s my favorite—dude’s got moves), then you’re tapping buttons to the beat while backgrounds scroll by with random ninjas and townsfolk cheering. Miss too many notes and Goemon faceplants. It’s janky, but in that "so bad it’s good" way SNES hidden gems sometimes are. Definitely not for everyone, but if you’re into obscure rhythm games or just love the Goemon series’ sheer randomness, it’s a fun curiosity.
