Okay, so picture this: Goemon—yeah, the pipe-smoking, ryo-throwing ninja dude—suddenly decides he’s gonna be a dancer. And not just any dancer, but one who platform-jumps to the beat while saving towns from… whatever weirdness the Goemon series throws at him. It’s as bizarre as it sounds, and somehow it works.

The game’s got these bright, cartoony levels where you’re hopping across rooftops one second, then suddenly the music kicks in and you’re tapping buttons in rhythm to pull off dance moves mid-fight. The controls take a sec to click—I kept messing up the timing at first—but once it does, it’s weirdly satisfying to watch Goemon breakdance his way past enemies.

Also, the soundtrack’s full of those SNES-era bops that stick in your head way longer than they should. If you’ve played other Goemon games, the humor’s still here (just with more jazz hands). It’s short, silly, and the kind of thing you play when you want something that doesn’t take itself seriously at all.

Definitely one of the weirder spin-offs, but in a good way.
