Ganbare Goemon 3 - Shishi Juuroku Hyoue No Karakuri Manjigatame (japan) Game
📅 1994 ✍️ Konami

Ganbare Goemon 3 is one of those weird, wonderful SNES games that never made it outside Japan—which is a shame because it’s easily the best in the series. You’ve got Goemon and Ebisumaru running, jumping, and smacking enemies with their pipes through feudal Japan, but with a twist: this time, you can switch between four playable characters, each with their own quirks. Sasuke the ninja’s tiny but fast, Yae’s got a mean umbrella attack, and of course, Goemon’s giant robot Impact pops in for some screen-filling boss fights.
The levels are packed with hidden doors, mini-games, and bizarre humor (like Ebisumaru getting turned into a zombie at one point). The art’s vibrant, the music’s catchy, and the whole thing feels like a chaotic anime episode. It’s a shame it never got localized—but hey, that’s what fan translations are for. If you’re into quirky action-platformers, this one’s a hidden gem.
