Gambler Jikochuushinha 2 - Dorapon Quest (japan) Game

Gambler Jikochuushinha 2 is one of those weird, Japan-only SNES RPGs that never made it overseas—which is a shame because it’s got this bizarre charm. You play as this gambling addict (literally) who gets dragged into a quest involving, of all things, capsule toys (dorapon). The battles are standard turn-based stuff, but with a twist: you can bet your money mid-fight for bigger rewards or brutal losses. Risky, but hey, that’s the point.
The overworld’s got that classic SNES look—bright colors, chunky sprites—and the dungeons are packed with traps and weird enemies. At first, I thought the gambling gimmick would get old, but the game actually makes it work. Lose too much cash, and you’re stuck grinding in back alleys for spare change. Win big, and you can buy overpowered gear early. No idea what the story’s about half the time (my Japanese is rough), but the gameplay’s weirdly addictive. If you’re into obscure RPGs with personality, this one’s a hidden gem.
