Galaxy Wars is one of those weird, forgotten SNES shooters that Japan got but most of us missed. It’s got that classic 16-bit spaceship action—you’re dodging neon bullets, weaving through asteroid fields, and fighting these bizarre alien bosses that look like they escaped from an ‘80s anime. The controls are tight, but some of the later stages get brutal if you don’t memorize the patterns.

What’s cool is how the power-ups change your ship’s weapons completely—one minute you’re firing spread shots, the next you’ve got these laser whips slicing across the screen. Music’s a banger too, all synth and urgency. Just don’t expect a deep story; it’s pure arcade chaos.

If you’re into retro shooters, this one’s a solid deep cut worth firing up on an emulator.
