About Full Throttle Racing (europe)
Full Throttle Racing came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, developed by Gremlin Interactive. It was part of that wave of racing games on the SNES that tried to push the hardware with fast, top-down action, a different take from the more common Mode 7 racers of the time.
You control a single car from an overhead view, racing against computer opponents on twisting tracks. The main goal is straightforward: win the race. The signature mechanics involve aggressive driving; you can ram other cars to spin them out, and you must manage your limited fuel by driving over fuel canisters placed on the track. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty comes from the tight, narrow courses and the constant threat of being knocked around yourself. It feels like a hectic, bumper-to-bumper scramble where a single mistake can cost you the lead.
