Frantic Flea is one of those weird, frantic (duh) SNES platformers where you play as a flea with a jetpack—yeah, you read that right. You’re bouncing around, blasting enemies with your weird little flea powers, trying to save your bug buddies from the Insideos, who are basically these gross internal-organ-themed villains. It’s as bizarre as it sounds.
The controls take a second to get used to—your jumps feel floaty at first, but once you figure out the jetpack boosts, you’ll be zipping around like a caffeinated insect. The levels are packed with hazards, secret areas, and some seriously creepy-cute enemy designs. Not gonna lie, the boss fights are where it really shines—expect some creative, slightly gross showdowns.
GameTek didn’t make a ton of hits, but this one’s got charm if you’re into offbeat 90s platformers. Just don’t expect it to hold your hand.
