I remember picking up The Flintstones: The Treasure of Sierra Madrock for the Super Nintendo back in 1994. It was developed and published by Taito, a company known for a lot of arcade hits, so it was interesting to see them take on a licensed platformer. This was right in the middle of the SNES era, when every cartoon seemed to get its own side scrolling adventure, and this one fit right into that familiar, crowded genre.

You control Fred Flintstone, and your main goal is to find pieces of a giant dinosaur bone to win a contest. The game is built on screen by screen exploration, moving through prehistoric locations like Bedrock and a volcano. You use Fred's club to smash enemies and break open rocks, which often reveal items or the bone pieces you need to collect. There's also some light puzzle solving, usually involving finding a key or hitting a switch to open a new path. The pacing is methodical, and some of the later levels can get quite tricky with precise platforming required. Playing it feels like a straightforward, sometimes challenging trek through a colorful Stone Age world.
