Firepower 2000 on SNES is one of those shooters that doesn’t mess around—you pick either a jeep or a helicopter (I always go chopper) and immediately get thrown into chaos. The first level alone has tanks rolling in, turrets blasting at you from all sides, and explosions everywhere. It’s fast, loud, and just the right kind of overwhelming.
What I love is how the game keeps you moving—no time to sit still when enemy fire comes from every angle. The jeep feels heavier, slower to turn but packs a punch, while the helicopter zips around but can’t take as many hits. Boss fights are brutal, especially the later ones where you’re dodging waves of bullets while scrambling to find their weak spot.
It’s not the prettiest SNES game out there, but the sheer intensity makes up for it. If you’re into classic shooters that don’t hold your hand, this one’s a blast—literally.
