Ever played a game where you're literally fighting fire with... more fire? The Firemen on SNES throws you into a burning New York high-rise, and it’s chaos from the first floor. You and a buddy (or solo, if you’re feeling brave) blast through flames with your hose—which, by the way, has this satisfying arc when you aim it—while dodging collapsing ceilings and rescuing people who just stand there coughing. Classic '90s logic.
The fires aren’t just background props either—they spread, and some even morph into these weird flame monsters for boss fights. The pixel art nails that claustrophobic, smoky vibe, and the soundtrack’s all tense synth beats that kick in when the heat (literally) ramps up. It’s short, kinda janky in that old-school way, but man, spraying down a room until the last ember fizzles out never gets old. Definitely one of those hidden gems that makes you wonder why nobody thought "firefighter action game" was a rad idea sooner.
