About Fire Fighting (japan)
Fire Fighting came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992, developed and published by Jaleco. It was part of that wave of early 90s SNES titles that tried out different jobs and settings, moving beyond the usual fantasy or space themes.
You control a firefighter navigating single screen stages, each one a burning building. Your main goal is straightforward: put out all the active fires and rescue every civilian before the timer runs out or the structure collapses. The core mechanics involve aiming and spraying your hose to douse flames, which requires careful water pressure management as your supply is limited. You also break down doors and navigate hazards like falling debris and exploding objects. The pacing is tense and deliberate; you cannot rush in, and each room presents a new puzzle of flame spread and trapped victims. It feels like a race against a relentless, consuming force.
