About Fighter's History (rev A)
Fighter's History (Rev A) came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1994, developed and published by Data East. It was one of many fighting games released in the wake of Street Fighter II's success, trying to capture that same competitive spirit on the 16-bit console.
You control one of several martial artists, each with their own special moves, and fight through a series of one-on-one matches. The main goal is to defeat all the other fighters and become the champion. A couple of its mechanics stand out: the weak point system, where repeatedly hitting a character's specific glowing area can stun them, and the ability to perform special moves with classic fighting game inputs. The pacing is fairly standard for the genre, though the difficulty can spike sharply on later stages. It feels like a straightforward, no-frills attempt to replicate the arcade fighting experience at home.
