About Fighter's History (japan)
Fighter's History was released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993, developed and published by Data East. It arrived during a period when the SNES was saturated with fighting games, many attempting to replicate the success of genre leaders.
You control one of several martial artists, engaging in one-on-one battles across a series of stages. The main objective is to defeat all opponents to become the champion. Signature mechanics include targeting an opponent's weak point, which flashes when hit and causes extra damage, and a three-tier super meter that builds as you fight. The pacing is methodical, with matches often feeling slower and more deliberate than its contemporaries, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, especially against later computer opponents. Landing a hit on a flashing weak point provides a satisfying sense of tactical success.
