Feda: The Emblem of Justice is one of those SNES tactical RPGs that flew under the radar—probably because it never left Japan until fan translations came along. But man, it’s got this rough charm to it. You start off leading a ragtag rebellion against a corrupt empire, and right away, the game throws you into grid-based battles where positioning matters way more than you’d think.
The characters are a mixed bag—some feel overpowered early on, others take serious babysitting to level up. I remember getting wrecked a few times because I underestimated how punishing the permadeath system is (yeah, no second chances here). The story’s nothing groundbreaking, but there’s something satisfying about watching your scrappy rebels slowly turn into a legit fighting force.
If you’re into Fire Emblem or Shining Force but want something with a grittier, less polished feel, Feda’s worth a look. Just don’t expect the balance to be perfect—half the fun is figuring out how to cheese the tougher fights.
