About Fatal Fury Special
Fatal Fury Special came out on the Super Nintendo in 1993, a port by Takara of SNK's arcade fighting game. It was one of several fighters on the system competing for attention in an era dominated by Street Fighter II.
You control one of many martial artists, like Terry Bogard or Geese Howard, and your goal is to beat all the other characters in one-on-one fights to become the champion. The game uses a two-line system, letting you jump between the foreground and background planes to dodge attacks or set up your own. You build a special meter by fighting; when it's full, you can unleash a more powerful super move. Matches are fast and the computer opponents can be brutally cheap, especially later on. Landing that perfect combo after a risky line shift feels incredibly satisfying.
